Mid Century Richard Fisher Cast Bronze Wind Bell
Richard Fisher is a master bellmaker and founder whose career spans nearly four decades. He began crafting hand-forged wind bells in 1970 from a small garage, selling them on the streets of Boston before discovering the American Craft Council fairs, which launched his career as a professional artisan. In 1975, Richard and his wife, Cindy, settled in Maine, where they built their home, raised four sons, and established the workshop that would grow into a dedicated bell foundry. Inspired by the possibilities of bronze casting, he built his first foundry in 1982 and, through years of experimentation and craftsmanship, developed a renowned bell-making practice. Today, Richard continues to create handcrafted bronze bells using time-honored foundry techniques, blending traditional methods with decades of experience and a lifelong passion for the art of bell making.
